United by Work.
Guided by Mentorship.
Built with Purpose.
Those aren't just words on our logo.
They're a promise.
To every apprentice looking for an opportunity.
To every experienced craftsperson wondering if their knowledge still matters.
To every community searching for people willing to build something better.
If that sounds like the kind of future you want to help create...
Welcome.
Let's build it together.
what is a traveling makerspace?
The Traveling Makerspace isn't a traditional classroom. It's a real working environment where every project has a purpose, every lesson is hands-on, and every participant leaves with practical skills, confidence, and a feeling of community.
One of the questions we get asked from time to time is why we chose the name Albert and Wick’s Traveling Makerspace.
The answer starts with the word makerspace.
Traditionally, a makerspace is a place where people come together to learn by making things. It might be a woodshop filled with woodworking tools, a metal shop with welding equipment, or even a quilt shop lined with sewing machines and long-arm quilting machines. What those places have in common isn’t the equipment—it’s the environment. They create opportunities for curious people to walk into a space, ask questions, try something new, and learn alongside experienced people who are willing to share what they know.
We love that idea. We simply wanted to take it one step further.
Instead of asking people to come to a building, we want to bring that learning into the community. Instead of practice projects sitting on a shelf, we want real projects that improve homes, neighborhoods, and nonprofit organizations. Instead of simulated experiences, we want people learning alongside experienced tradespeople while doing work that genuinely matters.
That's why we're a Traveling Makerspace.
The classroom isn't one building or one workshop. It's wherever a project creates an opportunity for people to learn, build, and serve together.
We believe people learn best by doing meaningful work alongside experienced mentors who are willing to share not only their skills, but their patience, wisdom, and pride in a job well done.
Every project becomes more than construction. It becomes a place where confidence grows, relationships are built, and communities become stronger.

Hands-On Learning
You'll learn with your hands before you're asked to memorize with your head. Every measurement, every cut, every finished project teaches something no lecture ever could.

MEANINGFUL WORK
Community projects change lives.
When you build with Albert & Wick, someone benefits from your work. That's a lesson that lasts forever.

Stronger Together
The makerspace is more than a training program. It is a network of mentors, alumni, partners, and community members who stay connected and invested in each other's success.

REAL WORKSPACES
The classroom travels wherever meaningful work is happening. You'll work alongside experienced professionals using real tools on projects that leave lasting improvements in the communities we serve.
Believe in what we're building?
